PERSONAL GROWTH COURSE

Life Line Ekurhuleni has been conducting Personal Growth Courses for more than 40 years.

HISTORY OF LIFE LINE:

LifeLine Ekurhuleni (Est. 1970) is affiliated to LifeLine Southern Africa, which in turn, is affiliated to LifeLine International. LifeLine was founded in 1963 by the Methodist Church in Sydney, Australia.  While LifeLine Ekurhuleni acknowledges the Christian basis on which the international body was formed, it is a non-denominational centre and welcomes counsellors from all faiths and respects the beliefs of all.

COURSE FORMAT & CONTENT:

The Personal Growth Course (13 sessions) will give you the opportunity to spend quality time with yourself and help you to get to know the real “you” again by:

  • Evaluating your life, dreams and relationships,
  • Learning about your positive and negative attributes and the affect this has on you and those around you,
  • Letting go of unnecessary baggage and making peace with the past,
  • Learning to consider different points of view, and
  • Finding a fresh approach to life and relationships.

We deal with specific topics at each session and our course is based on information in the form of short plenary sessions and experiential learning in the safety of small groups of 8 to 10 members, with our trained facilitators guiding the process.  Please note that the completion of our Personal Growth Course is one of the pre-requisites for our Counselling Training Course.  After completion of this module, you may be selected to go on to do our Rogerian based Counselling Training Course which consists of 10 sessions.  Participants must be over the age of 21 to participate in the course.  Please note that you may not miss more than one session.

Life Line offers a confidential counselling service to all members of the community who are in need or in crisis. This service is provided by trained counsellors who are skilled in the art of listening and encourage problem solving.

They are committed to giving emotional support either telephonically or by personal interviews.

The East Rand Centre strives to improve quality of life by offering courses in self-awareness, communication and life skills.  As a community based voluntary organisation, Life Line involves the community and it’s resources to achieve their objectives.
