Personal Growth Course

An Experiential Learning Process
The relationship with ourselves is the most important one and creates the depth and quality of our interaction with other people in our circle. Learning to accept, care for and develop that which lies within us, results in continually improving communication with others. Enabling this process of self awareness and learning, in order to empower our human potential, is the goal of the LifeLine Personal Growth course.

The course consists of thirteen three-hour sessions.

All courses are based on the principles of experiential learning and participants work in small groups, each one facilitated by a trained and experienced LifeLine counsellor.
Each session will comprise a variety of methodologies to provide optimum learning.
As each trainee has a unique contribution to make to the group, attendance at ALL sessions is essential.

The Personal Growth Course is designed to look at how we relate to others and ourselves.  It offers opportunities for greater understanding.

Course includes topics such as:

  • Communication styles
  • Life pressures & coping mechanisms
  • Trust & self disclosure
  • The spiritual dimension of our lives
  • Anger Management

Counselling Course
LifeLine Ekurhuleni is an organisation of skilled lay counsellors who are there to assist callers facing a crisis in their lives.   When a caller phones in, it is the counsellor’s duty to create a safe space to share what is happening in their lives.  Our counselling course training is designed to equip the counsellors with specific skills, for it is not LifeLine’s policy to impose the personal beliefs or convictions of the lay counsellors on callers.  Our Counsellors are non-judgemental, empathic, caring and non-directive and callers are therefore empowered to find their own solutions.

Duration of Training:  10 Sessions
The course is experientially based and trainees work in small groups facilitated by an experienced LifeLine Counsellor.
Attendance at all sessions is essential.

Following the Training course is an interview and selection process.
